The American Society of Plastic
Surgeons® (ASPS®) was
established in 1931 and is the
largest organization of plastic
surgeons in the world.
Its members must be
certified by The American Board
of Plastic Surgery® or by The
Royal College of Physicians and
Surgeons of Canada®.
The American Society of
Plastic Surgeons is devoted to
advancing quality care in
plastic surgery by encouraging
high standards in training,
ethics, physician practice, and
research.
Members of the American Society
of Plastic Surgeons must
complete annual requirements in
continuing medical education and
must uphold the ethical and
professional standards of
plastic surgery.
Members must also follow
the requirements of the society
regarding
patient safety.
For example, the American
Society of Plastic Surgeons
requires its members to operate
in accredited surgical
facilities that have passed
rigorous external reviews of
equipment and staffing.

Only members of the American
Society of Plastic Surgeons are
allowed to display its logo, as
shown on our website.
This is a symbol of
excellence in plastic surgery
and ensures that
you are in the
hands of a Board Certified
Plastic Surgeon.
