Cosmetic and Reconstructive Procedures

Injectables

Non-surgical treatments can help reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles on faces not quite ready for cosmetic surgery.  Among these treatments are BOTOX® Cosmetic, Collagen, and Hyaluronic acid injections.

BOTOX® Cosmetic works by preventing the usual action of muscles, thereby minimizing lines and furrows caused by the movement of those muscles.  BOTOX® Cosmetic is recommended for use in the forehead or to treat “crow’s feet” around the eyes.  Effects of these injections usually last two to three months, though repeated use may result in longer effectiveness.

Collagen injections work to correct lines and wrinkles caused by the diminishing of your own natural collagen layer that supports your skin.  There are several types of collagen injections.  CosmoDerm and CosmoPlast are human derived collagens and Zyderm® and Zyplast® are bovine derived collagens (a mandatory skin test is necessary before using bovine collagens).  Collagen injections can be used to fill in wrinkles around the nose and mouth or to improve the appearance of the lips by filling in the vermillion border.  Effects of these injections usually last three to six months.

Hyaluronic acid injections, such as Hylaform® Gel, Restylane®, and Juvederm® can be used to correct linesIllustration - After Facial Filler Injection and wrinkles around the nose

and mouth by filling in the tissue underneath the lines or wrinkles.  Effects of these injections usually last three to six months.

If you would like to schedule a consultation to discuss BOTOX®, Collagen, or Hyaluronic acid injections with Dr. Stieg or Dr. Paresi, please call our office at 407-647-4601.

Aggressive skin care may minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and may delay the need for cosmetic surgery.  For more information about skin care, please click here.
