The
effects of aging appear most evident on
the face – deep creases form between the
nose and mouth, the jawline grows slack,
jowls form, and folds and fat deposits
appear around the neck.
While facelift (rhytidectomy)
doesn’t stop this aging process, it does
“turn back the clock” by improving some
of the most obvious signs of aging.
For
low visibility, facelift incisions are
generally placed beginning above the
front of the ear, extending down around
the earlobe, then up behind the ear into
the hair on the side of the scalp.
Underlying muscles are tightened
and fat and excess skin are removed.
The result is a firmer and more
youthful neck, jawline, and cheek area.
Facelift can be done in conjunction with
blepharoplasty (eyelid lift).

blepharoplasty, click

Good
skin care before and after surgery also
improves the results of facelift.
In some cases, aggressive skin
care can delay the need for facelift.

Some
patients are candidates for
mini-facelift, or peri-auricular skin
excision, in our office under local
anesthesia.
Mini-facelift offers a
shorter
recovery time and saves the cost of
general anesthesia and hospital fees.
For these reasons, it is becoming
one of our most popular cosmetic
surgeries.
Mini-facelift improves the signs of
aging along the cheeks and jawline.
It is different from a full
facelift in that none of the deeper
tissues are tightened – only excess skin
is removed.
The incisions are made from the
top of the ear, around the earlobe, and
up behind the ear.
Optimum results are obtained in
candidates with minimal sagging of the
cheek and jawline skin.
If
you would like to schedule a
consultation to see if mini-facelift is
right for you, please call our office at
407-647-4601 to schedule a consultation
with Dr. Stieg or Dr. Paresi.
The
purpose of mid-facelift is to tighten
cheek muscles, thereby reducing the
groove between the nose and cheek.
It is usually performed at the
time of lower
blepharoplasty (lower eyelid lift)
since it is accomplished through the
same incision.
